Sidekick: Coming to You July 15, 2023

We are excited to announce that Sidekick: The Video Games Mental Health Journal will be released on July 15, 2023! Make sure you are signed up for our newsletter — we’ll send you an email as soon as you’re able to purchase a copy. 

Sidekick, a collaboration between Safe in Our World and Peregrine Coast Press, is a journal and resource focused on improving the mental health of those in the games community. 

“Sidekick has the potential to raise money for a charity with the potential to affect real, institutional change,” said Eryk Sawicki, PCP Project Manager and Designer. “The video games industry is notoriously unhealthy so playing a small part in changing that is pretty exciting!”

Release Party at Develop:Brighton

To celebrate the journal’s release, we will be hosting a launch event at Develop:Brighton, the UK’s biggest expo for game developers. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 11 at Barclay’s Eagle Labs in Brighton and is sponsored by Uplift Games. 

Our event will be on the first day of the expo, just before companies begin setting up. With the launch, we aim to create a pocket of calm in the midst of a bustling event. We are curating a space safe for game developers at all levels of their career.
